This weekend I’ll be in Lubbock for Hub City Comic-Con with my boxes of books and a new catalog sheet. Now, normally, when the con ends on Sunday, I’d pack everything up and head back home.
This time, however, I’ll be heading to Missouri to walk the streets of Rolla where my next novel is set. It’s a time travel story with the working title, Time on my Hand. The tale is already written, but details matter. I’ve been in Rolla before, but I’ve got to take photos and nail down significant locations in the city. Then I’m off to Bell Mountain and on to Alabama where the villain lives.
It’ll take a few days, but I wouldn’t be happy without doing this. I can’t do location research when my hero is on another planet, but I can certainly handle driving to another state.
