This was the opening day of the WorldCon, or rather the pre-opening day. By the time I had traversed the road construction that kept traffic to a crawl through Racine, and after I had located the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Chicago, I really only had time to get my registration materials and read up on the upcoming events.
