{"id":2063,"date":"2010-07-03T02:28:00","date_gmt":"2010-07-03T07:28:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2020-03-27T21:20:21","modified_gmt":"2020-03-28T02:20:21","slug":"nobody-at-apple-is-colorblind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/henrymelton.net\/2\/2010\/07\/03\/nobody-at-apple-is-colorblind\/","title":{"rendered":"Nobody at Apple is Colorblind"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_F_I2jb9dIrA\/TC6M34G1pkI\/AAAAAAAAA1I\/-scc6XhvQ6M\/s1600\/Screen+shot+2010-07-02+at+6.58.22+PM.png\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" border=\"0\" height=\"51\" src=\"https:\/\/henrymelton.net\/2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/Screenshot2010-07-02at6.58.22PM.png\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>I have come to the conclusion that nobody who makes Apple software is colorblind. &nbsp;The image above is the little chart in iTunes that tells what I have loaded on my iPad at the moment. &nbsp;Now, I suppose that most people can instantly see what how much audio and video I have loaded, but I can&#8217;t. &nbsp;The bluish stuff on the left is all one color, unless I look really closely. &nbsp;Maybe the books section is just too small to see, but I certainly can&#8217;t detect it anywhere.<\/p>\n<p>I went to the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vischeck.com\/\">Vischeck website<\/a>&nbsp;and ran their on-line converter with the Deuteranope settings which seems to match my kind of colorblindness and created this version:<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_F_I2jb9dIrA\/TC6PwcUGu-I\/AAAAAAAAA1Q\/NONfNcwKlMs\/s1600\/vc_Ce5b7f_sim.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" border=\"0\" height=\"51\" src=\"https:\/\/henrymelton.net\/2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/vc_Ce5b7f_sim.jpg\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>which looks very nearly identical to what I see above, but supposedly is designed to show normal people what us deuteranope&#8217;s see. &nbsp;I&#8217;ll have to take their word on that.<\/p>\n<p>In the past, working as a beta-tester for the nice people at The Omni Group, I ran across a similar problem where their red checkmarks and their green checkmarks looked the same to me. &nbsp;They kindly changed the colors so it was light green and dark red (or the other way around, I don&#8217;t really remember) and the problem was solved.
